Who we are

The Experimental Centre for Furniture and Furnishings was founded in 1982 in Poggibonsi (Siena) with the aim of providing companies in the furniture sector with support in terms of research / innovation, promotion / internationalization and professional training.

C.S.M. boards is formed by representatives of both public and private sectors, representatives of trade associations, municipalities, together with industrial and artisan companies. Trade associations provide their own contribution to the definition of CSM guidelines and strategies, allowing to concentrate in the same direction experiences, functions and knowledge that are not homogeneous in themselves.

CSM has been the leader of dID -Technological Cluster for Interiors & Design since 2012 taking care of the regional interiors & living environments system – furniture & accessories (home and contract), artistic crafts, RVs’ interiors and shipyard interiors.

CSM, as leader of dID, is a co-founder, representing the Tuscany Region, of both the SMILE – Smart Living Technologies National Cluster, which aims to develop knowledge, technological solutions, and highly innovative products in line with the Ambient Intelligence and Ambient Assisted Living paradygms leading to redesigning living environments in order to guarantee inclusion, safety, eco-sustainability, advanced and innovative performances; and of the National Cluster MinIT Made in Italy, which aims to support a wide network of organisations and companies working in the textile, fashion, gold, wood and furniture sectors through innovation and promotion specific actions.
